Baildon celebrates Yorkshire Day with two fun-filled days of local pride — featuring walks, music, crafts, food, and family activities for all ages.

Friday 1 August Highlights

  • 10:30 – Historical Walk Around Baildon Starts at the Potted Meat Stick. A steady walk exploring Baildon’s historic buildings.

  • 12:00 – Declaration of Yorkshire At the Potted Meat Stick, proclaimed by the Mayor of Baildon. Includes a choir performance led by James Craig, featuring an extract from Fountains of Bradford.

  • 19:30–22:30 – Ceilidh with Phoenix Band At Copper Beech Club. Traditional music and dancing to start the weekend in style. Booking required: Get tickets.

Saturday 2 August Highlights

  • 09:56 – Guided Walk from Burley to Baildon Meet at Baildon Station for a 5-mile return walk via moorland and historic tracks. No booking required

  • 10:00–13:00 – Flag Making at Baildon Library Drop-in activity

  • 10:30–11:15 – Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Wesleys Epworth Room Stories, songs, mask-making and snacks for under-6s Booking required: Reserve your place.
