Yorkshire Day takes place every year on 1 August. Across the Bradford district, the occasion is marked with parades, heritage activities and family-friendly events celebrating Yorkshire’s culture, history and community spirit. From the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire to the literary village of Haworth and the riverside town of Ilkley, the district provides a fitting backdrop for the celebrations. Look out for traditions such as the White Rose flag flying proudly above key landmarks and the bells of City Hall ringing out “On Ilkla Moor Baht ’at”, adding a distinctly Yorkshire soundtrack to the day.
