About

Survivors West Yorkshire Presents 'Unreconciled" for its UK premiere in Bradford.

1-man play, Unreconciled, is based on the true story of an adolescent actor cast as Jesus in a school play directed by a parish priest. The story chronicles a survivor’s journey as he confronts his past, navigates a victims’ reparations program set up by the Catholic Church, and discovers the courage to use his voice. This 80-minute piece is a poignant and at times humorous exploration of family, place, and the meaning of reconciliation.

Alongside the performance there will be a photography exhibition called 'Victorious Voices'. This exhibition has been curated by Manchester based photographer and survivor, Lee Cooper. Victorious Voices exists to change what happens next. Through photography and testimony, it makes survivor experience visible on survivor terms: dignity, consent, and control. It challenge silence and stigma, not to be pitied, but to be heard. By standing together, we expand empathy, confront denial, and create space for truth, healing, and connection.

There will also be a 45 minute q&a after the play.
