We're proud of our cultural heritage and excited to be named UK City of Culture 2025. Throughout Bradford you will find art galleries, theatre, cinema and live music to entertain and inspire you.

This city was the birthplace of the famous artist David Hockney and you can be enthralled by his works at Salts Mill and Cartwright Hall. Smaller galleries across the district showcase works from artists of all styles and in the city centre you’ll find the Impressions Gallery, one of the UK’s most celebrated photography venues which champions emerging talent.

Theatres around the district range from the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, which hosts the best in large scale entertainment, to thriving local Playhouses in Ilkley and Keighley and the Arts Centre in Bingley. Kala Sangam is a leading intercultural arts organisation based in Bradford that presents a varied programme which features south Asian and collaborative arts.

Bradford was awarded the title of the world's first UNESCO City of Film due to the city’s rich film heritage and its inspirational movie locations. To this day Bradford district is still chosen and featured in top films and TV series. The city is also a great place to watch film with a choice of cinemas from art house, to multiplex and of course the magnificent IMAX screen.
