Haworth book lovers will be celebrating Emily Bronte’s iconic novel Wuthering Heights - with a twist or two – a day ahead of the high-profile Margot Robbie/Emerald Fennell movie launch…
On Thursday 12th February at 6PM, St Michael and All Angels' - the Haworth Parish Church in which Emily worshipped - will host the global launch of ‘Catherine – a retelling of Wuthering Heights’ by best-selling gothic author Essie Fox: It’s the greatest tragic love story ever told – but this time, Catherine tells it herself. Essie Fox’s Catherine reimagines Wuthering Heights with beauty and intensity – a haunting, atmospheric retelling that brings new life to a timeless classic and lays bare the dark heart of an immortal love. Copies of the Special Edition Sprayed Edge first edition of Catherine will be available at the event.
Essie will be joined by Claire O'Callaghan in a wide-ranging discussion of all things Wuthering Heights. Emily Bronte expert Claire will also update us on her forthcoming revised and extended edition of definitive biography 'Emily Bronte Reappraised'
Essie and Claire will also be reading from and discussing their books, answering questions and signing copies.
Tickets are £10 and are available from the shop or online. Attendees will be eligible for 10% off all books in the shop at the event.
