This festive season, East Riddlesden Hall invites visitors to step back in time and discover the rich history behind its Christmas celebrations. Spanning over 2,000 years, the National Trust property on the edge of Keighley is reimagining the idea of a traditional Christmas by drawing inspiration from its long and varied past.
The historic manor will be beautifully decorated to reflect different eras in its history, offering a unique festive experience. Amy Gregory, House and Collections Officer, explains:
“This year, we’re theming the Hall around key periods in our history, including the Tudor and Jacobean eras, the Georgian period, and even our Saxon roots. It’s a wonderful opportunity for visitors to learn more about our story - with a festive twist.”
Visitors are invited to come and wander through the rooms which will be decorated from the 22 November, with the hall remaining open Saturday to Wednesday each week.
But the holiday magic at East Riddlesden Hall doesn’t stop with decorations. The estate will host an array of seasonal events, including Mrs Claus telling festive tales in the Great Hall, hands-on festive wreath workshops, and the much-loved Christmas market in the Airedale Barn and the popular Winter Ceilidh.
“East Riddlesden Hall is magical at Christmas, with its flickering candlelight and the welcoming charm of a family home,” said Hester Pode, Welcome Manager. “We’re thrilled to share that experience with our visitors this season”
