The National Trust team at East Riddlesden Hall, near Keighley, West Yorkshire, are preparing to open their doors after the winter. The Hall will be open 5 days a week from the 5 February.

This February half-term the site is running two activity trails. One centred on nature and mindfulness to mark children’s mental health week and a conservation trail inside the Hall – safe from the last of the winter weather.

The reconnect with nature trail around the gardens will test visitor’s senses, taking part in activities that encourage mindfulness and help relaxation.

The conservator in training trail shows visitors what it takes to be a conservator here at the National Trust, with seven activities from cleaning a collection item to finding the hidden salvage object.

It’s also the perfect time to see how spring is beginning to bloom all around the garden, with flowers like crocuses and snowdrops springing into life, and birds getting ready to build their nests. The winter-flowering blossom trees are also at their best, showing off the early signs of spring.

Emma Cunliffe Said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors back to this special place after a winter of weekend openings. The half-terms are always one of our busiest times of the year when children can play outside and experience spring blossoming around them.”

The tearoom will be open too, so after all that fun outdoors, there’s nothing quite like warming up with a hot drink, soup, or a classic National Trust scone.

The hall, gardens and tearoom will be open 10am – 4pm, Saturday – Wednesday from 5 February. The connect with nature trail will be running 10 – 18 February and the conservator in training trail is running from 10 – 25 February.

Every visit to East Riddlesden Hall helps us look after this special place, from taking care of our collections to looking after nature in the gardens.
