Ilkley Manor House Launches Its Busy Autumn/Winter Programme

There’s never a shortage of things to do in Ilkley, whether it’s rambling on the moor or feasting on baked goods in one of its many tea rooms. However, if your legs are tired and your stomach is full, then Ilkley Manor House has an alternative way to keep you entertained, filling your weekends with art, history and culture.

The autumn/winter programme 2023 has something for everyone: kids can get crafty with clay during Heritage Open Days whilst art-lovers can explore an exhibition that reflects on our experience and understanding of time. Animal-enthusiasts will delight in Steve Westerman’s photography exhibition celebrating species that thrive in and around the river Wharfe, and everyone can enjoy the beauty of the House itself, which is one of West Yorkshire’s oldest domestic buildings, dating back to the late 1300s.

Sarah Thomas, Chair of Ilkley Manor House Trust (the charity that looks after and runs the House) says, “We’re excited to launch our latest programme of events and hope that everyone can join us for fascinating coffee morning talks, live performances, informative exhibitions, family fun and more. The House belongs to Ilkley and we want people to come along and feel connected to its heritage, whilst enjoying the space and everything that is on offer.”

Ilkley Manor House, which stands on the remains of an old Roman fort, is open every weekend between 11am and 4pm. Entrance to the House, its heritage display, exhibitions and family fun activities are all free; live performances may incur a small charge.
