The National Science and Media Museum’s Pictureville Cinema has teamed up with Leeds International Film Festival to present the new 4k restoration of the Three Colours trilogy, a classic of world cinema created by the legendary Polish director, Krzysztof Kieślowski.

Screening over three weekends in April, the newly restored films – Three Colours: Blue, Three Colours: White and Three Colours: Red are based on the three ideals of the French Revolution. Together, the acclaimed trilogy is a tour-de-force of cinematic storytelling, featuring Kieślowski's signature themes of human connection and the search for meaning in life.

The collaboration between Pictureville and Leeds International Film Festival is part of LIFF Presents, a year-round programme bringing audiences the best of global cinema through a curated selection of previews, new releases and restorations.

Sally Folkard, Head of Screen and Cultural Engagement at the National Science and Media Museum commented: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Leeds International Film Festival to bring our audience in Bradford an acclaimed classic of world cinema. Cinemagoers will have the unique chance to experience all three films, fully restored on the big screen in Pictureville.”

Alex King, Programme Manager at Leeds International Film Festival added: “We’re excited here at LIFF about the 4k restoration of the arthouse sensation of the 90s, Kieslowski’s Three Colours trilogy. There’s no better cinema than Pictureville to see all three films. We encourage all Kieslowski fans to come back and experience them again on the big screen and look forward to introducing the films to a whole new audience.”

Three Colours: Blue screens on 8-9 April; Three Colours: White screens on 14 and 16 April, and Three Colours: Red screens on 22-23 April.
