Bradford-made independent feature film, Tell Me About It, to have preview screening followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew at Pictureville Cinema on 31 January.

Shot in Bradford, the film tells the story of rebellious British Pakistani teenagers Amara and Halima, who plan a secret escape from Bradford to London, away from their dominating parents. But everything goes horribly wrong when Amara is suddenly kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity.  During this dramatic coincidence, Amara and the kidnapper find themselves set against each other in a surprising way. One seems to have power and is afraid to lose it, the other begins to find it for the first time.

Following the film will be a Q&A with the cast and creative team to discuss the film and their experiences working in the film industry.

Commenting on the film, Suman Hanif, filmmaker, writer, and producer, said: “We have talked about collective diversity, what we really need right now is a conversation about embracing diversity of individuals. I hope the audiences will connect with the characters and understand them on a deeper level the important things they have to say.

It's been so long since our screens were graced with something like East is East and Bend it like Beckham that appreciated by audiences for finding humour and hope within the serious social issues explored such of the theme’s race, immigration, and identity. Likewise, with the love and support Tell Me About It has potential to reach its audiences and contribute greatly to the British Asian genre and admired for its interesting spin on prevalent social issues.”

Kate Burnett, manager of The Future is Northern programme at the National Science and Media Museum added: “We’re incredibly excited to preview Tell Me About It at Pictureville. The film was shot and made in Yorkshire, truly underlying the vibrant screen industry that exists in the North and the endless career opportunities available in film and programme making right on our doorstep.”

The preview screening is part of The Future is Northern, a series of special events which explore what the future holds for Northern film and programme making, and uncovering the skills needed for careers in the screen industry.

The film was created by producer and writer Suman Hanif of Pageful Productions (Plates, True Colours, What Next?) and stars Asad Shan from Welcome to London, the most successful British made Hindi language film in the UK.

The preview screening of Tell Me About It will be on 31 January at 18.30.

I was impressed by the cinematic atmosphere that reigned in the hall. The film was an amazing journey through the history of Bradford, told by the main character, who showed all the places where the iconic events took place. I also often find film reviews, use https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/film-review/ for that. I also want to add that the film was superbly shot and made me think about many things. I enjoyed every minute of this event and was glad that I was able to visit it. I'm looking forward to the film's release so I can watch it again.
