A poster for the concert featuring organist Robert Wolfe.

About

The Cinema Organ Society is delighted to welcome back one of Britain's finest theatre organists, Robert Wolfe, for a concert on the magnificent Wurlitzer at Victoria Hall, Saltaire.

Robert's love affair with the theatre organ began on a childhood family holiday to Blackpool, where a single visit to the famous Tower Ballroom sparked a lifelong passion. Remarkably, just two years later he successfully auditioned to join the Tower Ballroom's team of organists, becoming the youngest musician ever to hold the post at that time.

Since then, Robert has become one of the world's most celebrated interpreters of the theatre organ, renowned for his artistry, musicality, and effortless showmanship at the console. As resident organist at the world-famous Thursford Collection in Norfolk, his playing has been heard on BBC Radio 2 and on national television, including a live broadcast for The National Lottery watched by around 20 million viewers.

Away from Thursford, Robert tours extensively each year, delighting audiences across the UK with his unmistakable style; a blend of dazzling technique, warmth, and pure entertainment that has made him a firm favourite wherever he plays.

Don't miss this chance to hear Robert Wolfe bring the Saltaire Wurlitzer to life with an afternoon of glorious theatre organ music, together with refreshments (donation suggested), and visits to the organ chamber area below the stage, which houses nearly 1,000 pipes and percussions.  There is level access from Lockwood Street via a lift. All most welcome!

This concert is presented by the Cinema Organ Society (regd charity no 1189263).
