About

Darley Street Market will host a vibrant celebration of Ukrainian culture and heritage, bringing together music, dance, food, crafts, and community traditions.

Visitors can enjoy performances from the Dibrova Ukrainian Male Voice Choir, local Ukrainian schoolchildren, and the Huddersfield Ukrainian Singing Troupe, alongside piano pieces performed by Ukrainian musicians. Junior and senior dance groups will also take to the stage, including traditional ribbon dancing, with further entertainment to be announced.

A dedicated market area will feature stalls offering traditional Ukrainian embroidery, ceramics, wooden crafts, books, candles, paintings, and more. Authentic Ukrainian food — including varenyky (dumplings) — and Ukrainian bottled beers will be available throughout the day.

Drop‑in craft workshops will introduce visitors to traditional Ukrainian art forms such as Pysanky (decorated eggs) and Petrikivka painting, a UNESCO‑recognised folk style, along with creative activities for children.

The event will also include an exhibition of artwork created by injured Ukrainian soldiers and a display of retro Ukrainian football shirts and memorabilia.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to learn more about Bradford’s long‑established Ukrainian community, which has been part of the district since the late 1940s.
