“A visitor looking around inside Bradford Cathedral.”

About

Visitors are invited to join the Cathedral’s expert historian to explore the story of the building, which stretches back almost 1,400 years.

For anyone wishing to learn more about this remarkable place—its history, its architecture and its many treasures—this tour offers a rare opportunity. Bradford Cathedral is the only site in the city where visitors can encounter a history spanning nearly 1,400 years and explore a beautiful medieval building that includes Saxon fragments, Victorian and 20th‑century extensions, stunning Morris & Co. and other stained glass, and a wealth of historic and contemporary features.

Accessibility information
Visitors should be aware that part of the tour takes place in the Lady Chapel, which can only be accessed by walking up four steps. The group normally pauses there for a short time to view the Morris & Co. stained glass and the altar frontal. Access to this area is through a narrow space where a ramp cannot be installed.
Bradford Cathedral, largely built in the 15th century on a steep hillside, includes Victorian and 20th‑century additions with several sets of steps and narrow areas that are unsuitable for ramps. The Cathedral team acknowledges these limitations and continues to work towards improving accessibility. Visitors with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact maggie.myers@bradfordcathedral.org.
Further information about travel, parking and accessibility can be found on the Cathedral’s website
