About

Celebrate the bank holiday in the most charming way with Teddy Bear Weekend at the Shipley Glen Tramway, running from 2–4 May. This brand‑new 2026 event brings together family fun, nostalgia and a relaxed spring atmosphere, perfect for visitors of all ages — and all teddies.

Across Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the Tramway and Museum will be open from 12:00–16:00, offering gentle tram rides throughout the afternoon. Children are encouraged to bring along their favourite teddy bear for the journey, and well‑behaved teddies can even travel for free and take home a special sticker. It’s a lovely photo opportunity and a great way to make the day feel extra magical. Dogs are warmly welcomed too, so your furry friends can join in the fun.

Pack a picnic to enjoy at Shipley Glen or the Park, or treat yourself to delicious ice cream and refreshments available in the Museum. With plenty of space to relax, it’s an ideal way to spend a long weekend outdoors, soaking up the spring sunshine and creating new memories.

Whether you’re visiting for the tram rides, the teddy‑themed fun or simply a peaceful afternoon out, the Tramway offers a friendly, nostalgic experience for everyone.

There’s no need to book — just turn up and pay on the day.
