Pictureville celebrates Pride with a vibrant selection of queer‑focused cinema exploring identity, love, self‑expression and chosen family. This season brings together bold new features, intimate shorts and filmmaker conversations, offering audiences a rich snapshot of LGBTQ+ storytelling from around the world.

Madfabulous (12A) Dates: Coming soon | Location: Pictureville & Cubby Broccoli | A flamboyant, riotous period drama inspired by the true story of Henry Paget, the eccentric Fifth Marquess of Anglesey. As he arrives in 1890s North Wales to claim his inheritance, his theatricality and refusal to conform scandalise the elite and delight the locals. A celebration of queerness, performance and unapologetic individuality.

Cactus Pears (15) + Director Q&A: 13 June 2026 & 21 June 2026 & 25 June 2026 (with Q&A) | Location: Cubby Broccoli Cinema | A tender queer love story set in rural Maharashtra. Anand, a Mumbai call‑centre worker, returns to his ancestral village for a ten‑day mourning ritual and reconnects with childhood friend Balya. Their bond deepens into an intimate relationship shaped by grief, tradition and self‑discovery. Special event: The 25 June screening includes a Q&A with writer/director Rohan Kanawade.

Short Film: Two Black Boys in Paradise (15)13 & 21 June 2026 | Location: Cubby Broccoli Cinema | A BAFTA‑winning animated short based on Dean Atta’s poem. Teens Edan and Dula embark on a journey of queer Black love, self‑acceptance and emotional honesty. Note: This short screens before Cactus Pears on the above dates.
