PHIL KELSAL

About

This is a joyful social dance event set to the glorious sound of the Wurlitzer theatre organ, played live by the renowned senior resident organist from the Tower Ballroom Blackpool, Phil Kelsall. Held in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Hall, Saltaire, it recreates the atmosphere of the grand old ballroom days, where people gathered to dance to live music on a sprung wooden floor.

Whether you're keen to take to the floor or simply enjoy the uplifting rhythms from the comfort of your seat, this event celebrates music, movement and community. For the first time, visitors will also have the rare opportunity to view the inner workings of the mighty Wurlitzer organ during the interval — a fascinating glimpse into the heart of this remarkable instrument with over 1,000 pipes. An afternoon of nostalgia, discovery and the timeless joy of dancing to live theatre organ music.

Sponsored by the Cinema Organ Society. Refreshments will be available for a donation.
