About
Denso Marston Nature Reserve invites visitors to a hands‑on introduction to local patching — the practice of getting to know and record wildlife in a personal area, whether that’s a garden, a field, a nature reserve or a favourite walking route.
This friendly workshop is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced birdwatchers. Participants will learn why having a “patch” is so rewarding, what to look for throughout the seasons, and how to record their sightings.
Meeting point: Education Centre (From the layby on Otley Road opposite St James’ Church: follow the tarmac path at the first gate on the right, continue along the dirt track, then turn right before the riverside path. A stone seat marks the point where the Education Centre is just ahead.)
What to bring: • Dress for the weather • Binoculars if available — the reserve can provide some if needed
