T. rex stalks through a rain-soaked dinosaur park beside tour vehicles at night.

About

Steven Spielberg’s landmark blockbuster brings prehistoric creatures back to life with a sense of awe and danger that reshaped modern cinema.

When a select group of scientists is invited to a remote island theme park created by visionary industrialist John Hammond, what begins as a controlled demonstration of genetic achievement quickly unravels as the park’s systems fail and its inhabitants escape containment. As the visitors struggle to survive, Spielberg orchestrates a series of set-pieces that balance wonder with escalating tension, bringing Michael Crichton’s novel to vivid and visceral life through groundbreaking visual effects and meticulously designed sound.

Winner of three Academy Awards, Jurassic Park marked a major turning point in effects-driven filmmaking, combining early CGI with Stan Winston’s animatronics team to create creatures that still feel shockingly real today. Supported by John Williams’ iconic score and a strong ensemble cast, the film remains one of Spielberg’s defining achievements and one of cinema’s most enduring blockbusters.

Presented as a rare IMAX 3D screening at Widescreen Weekend, the film’s scale and spectacle are heightened further, with the dinosaurs’ literally given new depth. From the first reveal of the brachiosaurus to the relentless T. Rex sequence, this will be an unmissable screening of a timeless classic.
