About
This exhibition explores life in Ilkley during the 1950s, a time when the railway still continued through to Skipton, crossing the west of the town on its viaduct.
Featuring CH Wood aerial photographs alongside images of local events from the Ilkley Gazette and the Ilkley Local History Hub, the exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse into the town as it was seventy years ago.
Visitors are also invited to share their own memories and family stories of Ilkley, particularly those connected with the Old Castle, now known as Ilkley Manor House.
This exhibition takes place upstairs in the Western and Solar Galleries, accessible via a staircase of 18 steps. There is no lift.
