Haworth & Yorkshire Creatives ‘Makers Market’ is back. Curated by Brontë Bitch who is also based in Haworth, she launched this grassroots event, from scratch with the sole purpose to spotlight exceptional independent makers, crafters, photographers, artists, designers, bakers showcasing handmade products, made in Haworth and across Yorkshire. It’s a sustainable way to support local creatives and shop small.

Soak up Haworth’s history and charm and make a day of it. Wander up the cobbles of Haworth’s Main Street, explore independent cafés, pubs and shops, then step into literary history at St Michael and All Angels’ Church. Continue up to the Brontë Old School Room, where the Haworth & Yorkshire Creatives Makers Market pop-up takes place, just opposite the Brontë Parsonage Museum. For the more adventurous, why not venture further to Brontë Falls and on across the moors to Top Withens.

MEET THE MAKERS - INTRODUCING NEW STALLS WHO MAKE THEIR DEBUT;

BAGS OF CHARM makes her debut in May - born as a way to unwind after long days teaching children. A lifelong love of sewing grew into a dedicated practice during lockdown, when the brand began to take shape. Today, each piece is thoughtfully designed and handmade, from bags and purses to cushions and affordable gifts, often enhanced with beautiful, embroidered details. With a focus on supporting local fabric suppliers and sourcing colourful, unusual textiles from travels abroad, every item carries a personal and distinctive touch.

IMMORTAL BOUTIQUE makes her debut in May - home of the immortal rose – creates handcrafted ribbon roses designed to be truly personal, one-of-a-kind gifts for any occasion. Each piece is carefully made using layered ribbons, combining sheer and organza textures to create depth and delicacy. Glitter designs are crafted from satin ribbon, coated and finished by hand for a striking, shimmering effect. From roses set in domes and tins to bold arrangements in skulls, alongside alternative-style keyrings, every item offers a unique twist on a classic symbol. Followers also enjoy seeing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the making process, which is at the heart of the brand’s appeal.

TRACY WATSON ABSTRACT ART makes her Haworth debut - full-time social worker who turns to art as both release and therapy. Creative since childhood, her practice has evolved in recent years, often working from her summerhouse to the sounds of jazz and blues. “Everything I create begins with emotion and feeling — starting in my mind and finding its way onto the canvas.” Working primarily in oils, and more recently exploring acrylics and inks, Tracey is drawn to texture, movement and flow, bringing energy and depth to each piece.

BIJOUX BLUSH - handcrafted jewellery brand inspired by the timeless elegance of vintage Chanel and Dior. Each piece is carefully made using custom-blended polymer clay and premium findings, creating unique designs that feel effortlessly chic. CAROLYN EDWARDS ART  West Yorkshire artist with over 25 years’ professional experience. A published illustrator whose clients include BBC Worldwide, Titan Comics and Big Finish, her work has been exhibited at conventions across the UK, Europe and the USA. FORGET ME NOT BEADING presents a unique collection of handwoven beaded jewellery and accessories, handcrafted by Sue Griffin. Beadweaving is a specialist art form in which high-quality Japanese and Czech glass beads are meticulously stitched together using fine thread, creating intricate flat and three-dimensional designs, from statement jewellery to small decorative pieces and gifts.
