Immersive neon-lit woodland installation featuring brightly coloured handmade trees, foliage, mushrooms and woodland creatures glowing under UV light

About

Help bring a magical new exhibition to life at this free family craft drop-in at South Square Centre, Thornton. Inspired by Vespertine Garden, an immersive installation exploring Bradford’s hidden nocturnal wildlife, participants can paint and sculpt animals and plants inspired by creatures that emerge after dark, including bats, hedgehogs, foxes, owls and moths.

Developed with children and young people in Bradford, the project invites families to explore the city's overlooked night-time landscapes through creativity and imagination. All artwork created during the session will become part of the final exhibition, giving participants the exciting opportunity to see their own creations displayed in the gallery.

Suitable for all ages, with all materials provided, this hands-on session offers a fun way to get creative, learn about local wildlife and contribute to a large-scale community art project. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The session takes place in the first-floor community room, with stairlift access available.
