A woman in period dress

About

Join us for an engaging, interactive talk celebrating International Women’s Day by spotlighting Bradford’s brilliant women and girls from the 19th to the 21st century. Discover writers, explorers, sportswomen, nurses, poets, trade unionists, a university chancellor — and many more who achieved “firsts” in their field, from the well-known to the overlooked, right up to contemporary changemakers.

The session opens with a fun introductory game, before Mrs Norton (aka Irene Lofthouse)—in full suffragette character—guides you through hidden stories, forgotten names, and modern-day “Brilliant Bradford Lasses”, and invites you to nominate yours.
