Honouring Our Communities is a special Black History Month event organised by Bradford Children and Families Trust in partnership with the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity at the University of Bradford. Bringing together colleagues, students and community partners, the event will celebrate the achievements, contributions and rich cultural heritage of Black communities.

Hosted by Professor Udy Archibong and June Abbot, the programme will feature welcome addresses from Professor Gillian Murray, Vice Chancellor of the University of Bradford, and representatives from Bradford Children and Families Trust, alongside opening remarks from the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Chris Herd.

Highlights include a keynote address from Charles Dacres of Bradford Hate Crime Alliance, a screening of the documentary PAINTED followed by a panel discussion, live choir performances, music from Takudzwa Bakasa, and conversations exploring the positive impact individuals can have within their communities. Visitors will also have the opportunity to browse exhibition stands showcasing local services and organisations.
