A woodland filled with vibrant bluebells carpeting the forest floor, with tall trees and soft sunlight filtering through the branches.

About

Meet walk leaders Chris and Mervyn Flecknoe at 10.00am at Baildon Railway Station for a Bank Holiday Monday meander through bluebells in the Gill Beck valley (fingers crossed they are still blooming – we cannot promise). This 4‑mile walk will go at a relatively gentle pace, and families with children of walking age are very welcome. Paths are generally good, though the Gill Beck valley can be muddy, and there are 10 stiles to cross. The route follows footpaths and tracks towards the war memorial above Tong Park dam, then ascends the southern slope of the Gill Beck valley to just below the White House before descending into the valley itself, where we hope to enjoy the bluebells, returning via the war memorial and the old hamlet of Tong Park. Bring water and any snacks you may need. We aim to return by 13.00. This walk is organised by Baildon Walkers Are Welcome.
