About

Step into the shadowy world of Apocalypse Noir, a gripping season curated by acclaimed film critic and programmer Christina Newland. Exploring the dark intersection between classic film noir and Cold War anxieties, this six-film season uncovers cinema's fascination with nuclear fear, post-war trauma and the threat of global annihilation.

From sinister cults and weary war survivors to radioactive mysteries and atomic nightmares, these films reflect a world living under the shadow of the bomb. Blending noir with horror, science fiction and psychological drama, the season features cult classics including Kiss Me Deadly, The Seventh Victim, Panic in Year Zero and Split Second.

Journey from the streets of Los Angeles to post-war Japan as Apocalypse Noir examines how the atomic age reshaped our fears, morals and imagination. Expect suspense, style and existential dread in equal measure.
