One of the best ways to explore Bradford district is on foot.  Renowned for our rolling hills and rugged moorland, Bradford is a paradise for walkers of all abilities. You will find three Walkers are Welcome towns throughout the district, Bingley, Baildon and Burley in Wharfedale which proves we really are walker friendly. 

There are lots of walks for all abilities including long distance walks or you can simply enjoy the peace and tranquility as you stroll along the canal towpaths.  

The main long distance walks which run through the district are: 

The Bradford Millennium Way  is  a 45 mile circular walk encompassing much of the idyllic countryside that surrounds the City of Bradford

The Dales Way  is a long distance footpath of about 80 miles (129km) which starts from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere.

The Dales High Way is a 90 miles walk from Saltaire via Ilkley and the Dales finishing in Appleby-in-Westmorland

The Welcome Way – 28-mile circular walk in West Yorkshire.

Silsden Strolls are short circular walks within the parish for those who like walking footpaths and bridleways. They offer, via clear waymarking, descriptions and maps, exercise and wonderful views.
