Details

A tour as part of a project to highlight the significant black history at St George's Hall during black history month.
From Rev Sella Martin activist and fugitive slave who spoke here in 1866 and Paul Robeson singer writer and civil rights activist who appeared in 1958 to the Anti-apartheid events in the1980’s. To include the history of amazing black artists such as Dizzie Gillespie, Count Baisie, Howlin’ Wolf, Sarah Vaughn, Cleo Laine, Shirley Bassey, Marvin Gaye, Dionne Warwick, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Beverley Knight. In collaboration with community partners.

Parking

We have partnered with NCP to offer an exclusive car parking discount to people attending our venues. You can park at the NCP Hall Ings (BD1 5SD) or NCP Southgate (BD1 2AP). Vouchers are available from the Box Office when you buy or collect your tickets, or can be requested before the show from bars and kiosk (subject to availability).

There are a number of other car parks in the city centre within close walking distance of our venues. These include Crown Court; Jacob’s Well (Saturday only); Kirkgate Shopping Centre (daytime only); Leisure Exchange; Oastler Centre (daytime only); Sharpe Street (behind the National Media Museum) and the Broadway Shopping Centre.
