Walk Waypoints

1. 1 Begin the route on New Brook Street by the Riverside Gardens.
2. 2 Turn left into the Gardens and follow the path along the banks of the river.
3. 3 Once you reach the bridge across the river turn right and cross.
4. 4 Once across, turn left and continue following the river.
5. 5 You will emerge onto Nesfield road by an electricity substation. Turn right.
6. 6 Once past the the golf club buildings look out for two gates to your left. Take the smaller of the two.
7. 7 Cross the golf course and then cross the road once you reach it.
8. 8 Head up the grass bank and across a stile.
9. 9 Cross the field using several other stiles until you reach Gill Lane.
10. 10 Follow the road.
11. 11 Once you reach the fork in the road take the right fork.
12. 12 Once you reach the second fork, continue along the right-hand route.
13. 13 Follow the road past some farm buildings and then take a path to the left through a gate.
14. 14 Follow the path taking the right route when it divides.
15. 15 When you emerge onto the road follow it to the right.
16. 16 At the junction turn right onto Hardings Lane.
17. 17 Follow the road and look out for a gate on your right opposite a gate on the left. Take the right hand gate and coss the fields.
18. 18 You will reach an unmade road and follow this past several cottages.
19. 19 Take the left turn at the junction.
20. 20 Turn left again once you reach the junction with Langbar Raod.
21. 21 Follow the road past a cottage called The Hollies and look out for a gate on your right opposite a gate on the left. Take the right hand gate and go across the field.
22. 22 Bear slightly to the left till you reach a stile and cross into Middleton Woods.
23. 23 Follow the track through the woods bearing left until you emerge onto the road.
24. 24 Cross the road and head down past the Ilkley Lido.
25. 25 Cross over Denton road and continue on to reach the riverbank and turn right.
26. 26 Follow the riverbank until you reach Middleton road and turn left to return to the start of the walk.
