About
The Fakers have been described in the press as ‘the spirit of Marriot’. The UK’s only tribute to the Small Faces has had an afterglow since formation in 2007. They have built an international reputation and toured constantly in the UK and abroad. Their set-list includes twenty classic tracks from Sha La La Lee, Watcha Gonna Do About It, All or Nothing through to Tin Soldier, possibly one of the finest pop singles ever recorded. Kenney Jones the Small Faces original drummer has played with the Fakers and rates them as “absolutely spot on”. Stan, brother to Ronnie Lane the Faces bass player said the Fakers are “as close as you’re gonna get”. Authentic outfits and instruments aside The Kinx bring to life the Davies brothers’ (Ray and Dave) iconic classics and have had the same line-up for 11 years. Dave Davies himself said The Kinx are “the best tribute band I have ever seen”. The band are indeed four dedicated followers of fashion whose three-part harmonies re-create all the hits in a non-stop format for dancing. The Kinks had 17 top twenty singles and 5 top ten albums and were one of the big four alongside The Beatles, The Stones and The Who, and played regular spots at the Liverpool Cavern. The Greatest Shows’ sound engineer is producing the show and has connections with Peter Frampton (The Herd), Stevie Marriot and currently The Kinks themselves. We are lucky to get each band to come to Bingley and thank them for doing so. To have them both with us on the same night is a huge bonus.
