THE LOWS AND HIGHS OF SALTS MILL

About

"Baildon Walkers are Welcome" is inviting you to join our guided walk  - THE LOWS AND HIGHS OF SALTS MILL.

Join walks leaders, Stephen Wolstenholme, Barbara Walker and Karen Holt at the Potted Meat Stick  at 9.00am for a walk of 6.2 miles. This is a
circular walk, along footpaths, tracks, river and canal sides before ascending back up to Baildon through woods and paths. We will pass the
industrial history of Saltaire before enjoying panoramic views back over the route and the Aire Valley.  There are toilets at Saltaire and
Baildon. The route includes one steady ascent to the Old Glen House and there is some rough track along part of Baildon Bank. There are no
stiles.  Strong shoes or boots recommended plus walking poles for rough sections if you like to use them.  Bring drink and any snacks required. Anticipated end time: 12.45.

Our friendly walks leaders offer a warm welcome to walkers – from Baildon and from further afield. We aim to provide a comfortable and enjoyable walking experience on all our guided walks.

Please come suitably dressed for the weather conditions on the day of the walk. Our walks-descriptions let you know the distance and terrain of each route in order to help you choose a walk that you will enjoy.  Our walks leaders are unable to provide first aid assistance or equipment on our walks. We ask that you bring with you any medicines or plasters that you might need.  We recommend that you keep a card with your name and address, an emergency contact (name and telephone number), and brief details of any medical conditions or allergies (that you would want emergency services to know about), in the top of your rucksack.  We cannot accept dogs other than assistance dogs on our walks.
