Steam & Spice Poster!

About

Step aboard a heritage steam train for a one-of-a-kind dining experience that blends history, storytelling, and South Asian cuisine. Steam & Spice is a signature event of the World Curry Festival 2025, celebrating 200 years of British rail and the rich cultural connections between train travel, empire, and migration.

Guests will enjoy a scenic journey through Yorkshire’s countryside in vintage carriages, hosted by costumed guides with ambient music and tales from the spice trails. The curated Asian Afternoon Tea and Supper Club menus feature delights like cardamom chai, samosa pastries, railway lamb curry, Anglo-Indian sandwiches, and sweetmeats—all inspired by the railway kitchens of the British Raj.

Perfect for food lovers, history buffs, and experience seekers, this immersive event invites you to taste the past and ride into a shared future.
