Saltaire Farmers Market relaunches with its first market of 2024 taking place on Sunday 10 March at Caroline Street Social Club.
Following an announcement from organisers in December 2023 that Saltaire Farmers Market would stop, Yorkshire’s Real Markets has taken over the much-loved local market and it will be return for its monthly spot from March.
Running on the second Sunday of the month, March to December, Saltaire Farmers Market will continue to operate from the same venue, and trade 10-2pm.
The team at Real Markets operate monthly local producer and farmers markets in Ilkley, Ripley Castle, Grassington, Harrogate and Otley. Real Markets have kept on all the traders who wished to remain and will also be introducing new ones too, including special guest trader spots.
Lucy Allen, Director at Real Markets said “We already work closely with many of the traders at Saltaire Farmers Market and knew what a well-loved event it was. When the opportunity came up to keep it going we jumped at the chance. The original organising team have done an incredible job over the last two years and we’re honoured to have been given the chance to help the market thrive and grow.”
Real Markets, whose mission is to support local, specialist, and independent producers and makers, says the line-up for the first Saltaire Farmers Market on Sunday 10 March will feature fresh breads, cakes, cheeses, lasagnas, meats, coffee, jams and chutneys and more. Visitors will also be able to treat themselves to freshly made coffee, as well as bacon and sausage sandwiches as they walk around the stalls and talk to the talented producers.
Real Markets run a number of long-standing Yorkshire markets, that are always free to attend. They include monthly markets and farmers’ markets in Ilkley, Grassington, Otley, Harrogate, Saltaire and Ripley Castle. Its ethos is to support local, small, specialist and independent businesses to benefit the local community and help local producers thrive.
