About

Baildon Walkers are Welcome invite you to join our next guided walk, part of the Bradford 25 Millennium Way Circular Walks project. On Saturday 6 September we will be exploring the Silsden Circular, a 7.5-mile route showcasing a mix of farmland, waterways and charming countryside. We will set off from Silsden Car Park with the walk expected to last around 4 hours.

The route begins at Wesley Place and heads towards Bracken Hill Farm, crossing a small stream before continuing to High Crossmoor Farm. From there we descend to the Leeds–Liverpool Canal, crossing the water and following the river downstream to Silsden Bridge. The trail then joins the Millennium Way, leading us past Howden Park Farm and up towards High Brunthwaite and Swartha, before returning to the start point at Town Head. The walk is fairly straightforward, though walking poles may be useful when crossing the stream.

Please ensure you come prepared with sturdy walking boots with non-slip soles, and clothing suitable for the weather on the day. A packed lunch and plenty of water are essential, as there will be no catering facilities along the route. Autumn can bring cooler conditions and unexpected showers, so layers and waterproofs are recommended.

No pre-booking is required – simply come along and enjoy the day.

For insurance purposes, it is a requirement of the Midweek Wayfarer Group that all walkers hold membership. A one-day membership is available for £1, payable on the day. We regret that dogs cannot be accepted on our guided walks.
