Welcome to this concert in our 2025-2026 series, featuring Andy Long - violinist, performing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 - "The TURKISH"
Returning by popular demand, virtuoso violinist, Andy Long, will be performing Mozart’s violin concerto no. 5 in A major ‘The Turkish’. Mozart was inspired by Turkish music, which he also used in his opera The Abduction from the Seraglio. In this concert the orchestra will also be performing Rimsky-Korsakov’s rarely heard Symphony no. 3, which is full of colour, beautiful melodies and rhythmic excitement - a real gem!
The IPO is proud of the excellent reviews it has received and the 2025-26 Concert series should be a delight for first-time and seasoned concert goers alike. We look forward to welcoming you.
