About

Yorkshire acts as both location and muse on this immersive one-day nature writing workshop led by poet and editor John Whale and poet and environmentalist Matt Howard

The workshop takes place in the beautiful grounds of Nell Bank, an outdoor centre nestled in the Wharfe valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. In the morning you’ll enjoy a guided nature exploration, observing and drawing creative inspiration from the ancient oak woodlands of Middleton Woods, the winding River Wharfe and stunning views of the Wharfe valley. In the afternoon Whale and Howard will lead a masterclass in nature writing as you create prose and poetic responses to your experiences in nature.

Welcome refreshments and a delicious locally sourced lunch are included.

Bring warm waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for uneven terrain.
