About
Foley Films are delighted to be collaborating with Ilkley Pride and Diversity for Pride month. We will be showing the iconic 2014 film “Pride” on Friday 13th June at The Clarke Foley Community Hub.
Pride is a moving film based on the true story of a group of queer men and women in London, fighting against Thatcher’s efforts to deny them their rights, whilst raising money to support the Welsh miners whose existence is being threatened by the Iron Lady’s Pit closures. In this unprecedented collaboration, a story unfolds of unlikely friendships, respect and understanding. A moral tale reminding us that we all want the same things in life regardless of our backgrounds, sexuality or gender. At a time when intolerance of diversity seems to be on the rise globally, this is a timely reminder of how much can be achieved when we put aside prejudice and difference and focus on our commonality.
"Earnest without being didactic and uplifting without stooping to sentimentality, Pride is a joyous crowd-pleaser that genuinely works." 93% Rotten Tomatoes
