This is Cinerama

About

As one of the few public remaining Cinerama venues in the world, Pictureville and Widescreen Weekend wants to offer as many opportunities to see the groundbreaking 1950’s cinema technology as possible and to ensure the format endures and can be enjoyed by all.

This year, we’re thrilled to present two authentic 3-strip Cinerama screenings, showcasing the intricate projection technique in all its glory. In addition, we’re offering a digitally restored Smilebox presentation—offering a glimpse of the format in its most pristine and perfect version.
