About

This final Millennium Way Circular Walk for 2025 will depart from and finish at Brackenhall Countryside Centre.

Leaving Brackenhall, we take a rising path which becomes quite steep, across farmland, and moorland towards Dobrudden. We then bear right on a moorland track with extensive views across Airedale. We contour below the summit of Baildon Moor before descending down the old “Collier Track” to the edge of Baildon. We do not enter the urban area but turn away, to follow good footpaths to Sconce, where we will eat our packed lunch. We then walk along a lane to Faweather Grange and pass through the hamlet of Birch Close to pass Golcar and Glovershaw Farms. We follow a path which is narrow and rocky in places with a stream down to our right, and soon emerge on to open land above Shipley Glen. We make our way down Brackenhall Green and back to to the Countryside Centre.

This walk is mainly on good paths but with a few stiles requiring a good degree of flexibility and a steepish ascent at the start of the walk, with a total ascent and descent during the day of 750ft.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Clothing: bring suitable clothing and boots for any wet or uneven ground. Some muddy stretches after rain.

Food: bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
