The forgotten female voices of the Great War can now be heard. Irene Lofthouse brings to life the stories of four Yorkshire women’s contributions to The Great War. Bradford-born Alberta, VAD, poet, friend of Agatha Christie & JB Priestley. Leeds-based Dorothy, its youngest Mayoress in 1913, socialite, PALS fundraiser, poet, Yorkshire dialect & Romany lore expert. Harrogate lass Betty, YMCA volunteer driver of wounded in France. York woman Flora, frontline fighter with the Serbians.

This one-woman show lasts approx. 45 minutes; performance followed by audience Q&A.
