Theatre in the Mill has an enviable reputation as a vibrant, professional venue. First opened by Alan Ayckbourn in 1976, it is the hub of the University's theatre activities and offers a black box flexible studio space with seating for approximatley 100 people. It is one of the foremost fringe theatre venues in the country and hosts the best in contemporary touring theatre.
