We’re delighted to welcome back Poetry at the Parsonage comperes Mark Connor and Gill Lambert for a day of Brontë-themed open mic.
Mark’s debut poetry pamphlet, Life is a Long Song was published by OWF Press in 2015, and his first full-length poetry collection, Nothing is Meant to be Broken, was published in 2017 by Stairwell Books. Mark’s debut novel, Stickleback, was published by Armley Press in 2016, and was longlisted for The Guardian’s Not the Booker Prize 2016. His second novel, Tom Tit and the Maniacs, is out now with Armley Press.

Gill Lambert is a poet, teacher, and creative writing facilitator from Yorkshire. She has been published widely both online and in print and won the 2016 Ilkley Literature Festival Open Mic competition. Gill’s debut pamphlet, Uninvited Guests, was published by Indigo Dreams in September 2017 and her first full collection will be published next year.

Mark and Gill co-compere at Word Club, Leeds and are looking forward to returning to the Parsonage to help us celebrate Emily’s birthday weekend. Poems with a Brontë link are particularly welcome but not compulsory, so feel free to be creative! Please email before 14 July to enter the draw for the open mic.
