A grand day out in Baildon!
Celebrate Yorkshire Day with a day of free family-friendly activities, live entertainment and local heritage events across the village.
Highlights
- 10:00 – Historic guided walk around Baildon, starting at the Potted Meat Stick and finishing in Town Square.
- 10:00 – Yorkshire-themed flag-making at Baildon Library.
- 10:00 – Guided walk across Baildon Moor with Baildon Walkers are Welcome.
- 12:00 – Declaration of Yorkshire in Town Square, proclaimed by Deputy Mayor Councillor Michael Brannan, followed by a performance of The Potted Meat Stick Song.
- 12:00 onwards – Children's crafts at the Moravian Institute and face painting by Crafty Chops.
- 12:30 onwards – Traditional games at Baildon Community Garden, including hula hoops, skittles and hopscotch.
- 12:30 onwards – Live music from Bradford Concert Band and Baildon Strummers at The Bulls Head marquee.
- Throughout the day – Follow the Baildon Bear trail, complete the word puzzle and take part in the treasure hunt.
- Evening – Yorkshire quiz, local history presentations, pictures of Old Baildon and a pie and peas supper at St John's Church Hall (ticket required).
Throughout the village, shops, pubs and cafés will be displaying Yorkshire Rose bunting, while themed displays can be viewed at Wesley's Café and Baildon Library.
Thanks to the support of Baildon Town Council, all daytime activities are free to attend.
