Shipley Christmas Lights Switch On poster

About

The annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event will be taking place on Saturday, 22nd November, from noon to 5:00 pm.

As always, there’ll be lots of free family fun to enjoy around the town centre before the grand finale and Christmas lights switched on in Market Square at 4:45 pm.

This year, there’ll be a carousel, a performance stage and a Christmas market in the outside spaces.  Inside, we will have Santa’s Grotto in the Underground Market and wreath-making in Hive community arts centre and in Shipley Library.  Also in Shipley Library, we’ll have a festive photo booth, a magician, face-painting, crafting and children’s activities.  Over in Kirkgate Community Centre, you’ll find a brass band, a choir and two live performances of a Christmas theatre show, plus two showings of Christmas films, a quiet zone with games, a festive café and charity stalls.
