A group of walkers at a moorland trig point

About

Meet walks leaders Barbara Walker and Chris Grogan at 10.00 at Baildon station for a railway-related walk of 6 miles. We will walk down to the canal and head for Shipley, crossing Gallows Bridge, then briefly take in the old Shipley Northern Line station, (known to many of us as Lens Scooters.) We then join the track of the dismantled railway to Thackley Station, now a residential property. A little road walking through Thackley then through Idle Rec where there is more evidence of the railway including the remains of Idle Station. Then the high point of the walk - fish and chips at the award winning Towngate fisheries, unless you prefer to bring a packed lunch. Once replete, we will make our way through ginnels to Thackley and back to Buck Lane via Buck Woods. A different route back to Baildon station. Estimated return time 14.00.

Please come suitably dressed for the weather conditions on the day of the walk. We cannot accept dogs other than assistance dogs on our walks.
