A group of walkers at a trig point

About

Our 3rd guided walk this autumn, to celebrate the 150 years anniversary of Baildon Railway Station. Join walks leaders Bob Davidson and Jan Thom for a 5 mile, historically-themed guided walk, accompanied by local historians Geoff Shaw-Champion and Peter Kerr, focusing on the Tong Park to Guiseley section of the railway line. Meet Bob Davidson and Jan Thom at 9.40am at Baildon station for the 9.57 train from Baildon Station to Guiseley. Tickets from the machine on the station or on the Northern App. We will walk back via Esholt Woods and Tong Park on well-established paths. There are a couple of stiles en route. We will stop along the way to hear from Geoff and Peter about the construction and history of the line and also at Guiseley Theatre to see a portrait of Matthew William Thompson - and at Hollins Hall to talk about his role in building the original house and his significance as a director of the Midland Railway and as Bradford mayor. Hollins Hall is offering refreshments when we call there.

Train time provisional as timetable may change before November. Check for Facebook posts for change of train time. Expected return to Baildon Station for between 13:00 & 13:30

Bring water to drink and any additional snacks needed.

Please come suitably dressed for the weather conditions on the day of the walk.

We cannot accept dogs other than assistance dogs on our walks.
