A picture of someone "Zipping the Cow"

About

Zip slide from the top of the Cow, at the Cow and Calf rocks above Ilkley, in summer 2027 to help support Sue Ryder’s expert, compassionate end-of-life care. The event sees participants walk (or ride) to the top of the iconic ‘Cow’ at the Cow and Calf Rocks above Ilkley and then jump from it, sliding 270m at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour. August 1st is also Celebrate Yorkshire Day, so you can celebrate in style by zipping from one of Yorkshire's most iconic landmarks.

Participants can choose from zipping in the daylight or at sunset. Daytime participants will take in spectacular views of Wharfedale....if they dare open their eyes! For the later slots, we will light the Cow and Calf Rocks to make it a spectacular experience.

This event is an ideal activity for those who want to do something special to celebrate a big birthday and to benefit a great charity too. The vital funds you raise help us continue to provide our expert end of life care and grief support.

Unlike a run or cycle ride, it requires zero training (though a degree of bravery is required). In previous events, we've had participants ranging in age from 8 to 80, some of whom had disabilities, so it really is an event for all.
