The Ring O' Bells sits at the top of Hill Top Road in Thornton with sweeping views across Queensbury to the front and the open Pennines behind. The building itself dates back to the 19th century, understood to have begun life as a Wesleyan chapel house in the very villiage where Charlotte, Anne, Emily and Branwell Bronte were born. The Bronte Way passes through the fields directly below, making the Ring O' Bells a natural stop for walkers and literary visitors exploring Bronte country.
Inside, the bar retains many original features while the dining room occupies what were once two stone mill cottages. Warm, welcoming and rooted in the local community, The pub has a reputation for honest, freshly prepared food and well-kept ales.
