“The Music of John Williams vs Hans Zimmer concert at Bradford Cathedral, presented by The Great British Film Orchestra.”

About

Presented by The Great British Film Orchestra

Experience an unforgettable celebration of John Williams, Hans Zimmer and the greatest film scores ever written, performed by a chamber orchestra.

This year, The Great British Film Orchestra launches a UK‑wide tour with The Music of John Williams vs Hans Zimmer — a dynamic orchestral showcase of two composers who transformed modern cinema.

For over fifty years, John Williams has defined cinematic wonder with iconic themes from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, Jurassic Park and more, blending classical tradition with sweeping adventure and timeless emotion.

Facing him is Hans Zimmer, the visionary behind The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception and many others. His bold mix of orchestra, electronics and driving rhythm reshaped the sound of contemporary film.

Renowned for their rich, cinematic performances, The Great British Film Orchestra brings these worlds to life — transporting audiences from distant galaxies to ancient arenas, enchanted kingdoms and shadowed cityscapes.

More than a concert, this production celebrates two musical giants whose scores shaped the heart of storytelling. Expect soaring strings, heroic brass and electrifying moments as Williams’ iconic themes meet Zimmer’s thunderous energy.

John Williams. Hans Zimmer. One orchestra. Infinite adventure.
