About

The Low Moor Comical Company presents - Low Moor 1916 A presentation in words, images, music and song commemorating the people involved in, and the events surrounding, the Low Moor munitions works explosion on 21st August 1916.

In 1916 there was a huge munitions factory explosion in Low Moor, near Bradford, when 40 people, including six firemen were killed. That same year the community had already lost ten men at the Battle of the Somme. This presentation takes us through a year in the life of the community culminating in the explosion, which was described as an accident waiting to happen. Six performers play all the parts and perform the music and songs. This will be the 5th performance of the show.
