Introduction to Lacto Fermentation Presented by Plenty at the Square

Location: Outside the Wellnest, Fresh Food Floor, Darley Street Market.

Join Plenty at the Square for a hands-on workshop exploring the ancient art of lacto fermentation. Learn how to harness natural bacteria to create flavourful, healthy foods like sauerkraut and kimchi, while discovering techniques to reduce food waste through preserving, pickling, and drying.

This session includes tastings and the chance to make your own classic sauerkraut. It’s part of a weekly series of workshops and events at Darley Street Market, designed to promote sustainable food practices using the whole vegetable.

About Plenty at the Square Plenty at the Square is a creative vegetarian café based at South Square Community Arts Centre in Thornton. Known for its ever-changing menu, the café champions sustainable, seasonal, and surplus produce to inspire thoughtful food choices.
